"For every thing, there is a season..." --Ecclesiastes or The Byrds, your call ;-)
There is a time to simply pat us on the back and wish us well -- and there is a time for everything else in its season.

NOW IS THE TIME TO SEND MONEY IF
YOU BELIEVE IN FULL LEGALIZATION OF
DRUGS ALONG THE ALCOHOL AND
TOBACCO MODELS.

DO IT TODAY! SUPPORT THE PIONEERS OF LEGALIZATION. We in the International Antiprohibition League need your help. We have quietly asked for money in the past. Now we are being aggressive about it. We cannot do this important job without substantial financial support. Yes, we have received some, but need a lot more.

We are carrying on a unique international campaign to repeal or amend the UN prohibition treaties and thus to open up the way for individual nations to make now-banned radical changes in their drug laws, including full legalization. Many of these activities are taking place in the United States, which dominates the harsh prohibition regime found throughout the world. To cite just one example of our work in the U.S., we are pleased to inform our friends that a major press event has taken place on April 29 in Washington. At noon on that day there was an historic press conference in the Murrow Lounge of the National Press Club. This has been the first of its kind in that major Washington institution wherein the rationale for amendment or repeal of the UN treaties and for responsible legalization has been laid out for the press and public of North America.

The event was chaired by IAL President, Arnold Trebach. The main speakers were prominent parliamentarians from other countries. Senator Pierre Claude Nolin chaired the Canadian Senate Committee on Illegal Drugs that proposed a major reform of the UN prohibition treaties and also recommended that marijuana be legalized, not simply decriminalized, within an innovative set of rational regulations.

Marco Cappato is a rising young member of the European Parliament and also a member of the IAl and its parent body, the Transnational Radical Party. He was recently voted the most influential European in a poll by European Voice Magazine. Not long after that he served a brief jail sentence in the UK for openly and non-violently defying the laws on marijuana possession.

The press conference was broadcast live by satellite to every television station in the US and Canada so that these stations could download parts of the event for later use on their own newscasts. Needles to say, such events put a considerable strain on a small budget. That is where you come in.

There are many ways you can contribute. Since the activities of the International Antiprohibitionist League (IAL) within the United States and Canada are carried out mainly through the Trebach Institute, you may make a contribution to The Trebach Institute, indicating that the funds are for the work of the IAL. Since The Trebach Institute is a 501(c)(3) organization, contributions to it are normally tax deductible to those donors governed by US law. You may send the money through PayPal, which will bill the contribution to one of your credit cards. This system is quick, easy, secure, and confidential. Click Here to make a donation through PayPal.

Or you may send a check or stocks and bonds by mail to The Trebach Institute, Box 185, 5505 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20015-2601. Recently we have received some contributions by wire. You may do the same. The funds should be wired to the account of The Trebach Institue in the Riggs Bank, NA; Chevy Chase Office; Washington, D.C. 20015-2675. The routing number for the bank is 054000030 and the account number is 17262744. You may send any currency which the banks will then convert into dollars. One recent contribution was in Euros. This is a quick, secure, and confidential method of sending money to us.

You may also contribute directly to the home office of the IAL in Europe. Click on this link, International Antiprohibition League, to reach the main IAL page.
